Hylon. Internet and telephony at the field

Hylon is a drill operator for the oil wells construction. The company is an official contractor of the largest oil company in the Kyzylorda region. Since November 2009 ASTEL has been providing Hylon with wide range of communication services, including Internet access and urban telephony at the Kumkol field, Kyzylorda region. The biggest challenge of the project was to provide telecommunications to remote object located at more than 200 km distance from Kyzylorda city. Poor infrastructure made it complicated to arrange services over terrestrial infrastructure. The problem was solved with the help of SkyEdge satellite channels.

After the work was complete the client gained an access to the outside world using corporate phone and Internet connection.
